Welcome to Teddo and Lid. We are very proud to launch our range of scented soy candles in an image and design that reflects who we are and where we’re from. Our fragrance choices where created to please a broad range of styles, tastes and imaginations. Our inspiration is Australia and more specifically Queensland, perfectly placed within the South Pacific region and home to some of the world’s most beautiful fragrance notes and iconic holiday destinations.
Although this is the official launch of the range, our candles have been burning in many homes well before this date. Over the last two years we have been fortunate to have had many women trialling our candles and passing opinion on our fragrances as we tested relentlessly to create our final look, feel and scent. A collection of women over a wide age group and contrasting backgrounds from rural Western Queensland to Port Douglas and all the way down to the Gold Coast Hinterland. Through this network of women, some of whom we have not met, the favoured fragrances where soon established. These fragrances have become the Scents of Summer.
Along the way the essence of the range has changed slightly from the initial intention of simply creating a luxury candle, to that of creating a luxury experience. This is due to in no small part to the energy and emotions that the curation process ignited in others. It was this energy that formed another element; one that was such fun and provoked conversations with people whose paths would not have met ours in everyday life experience. It is important to us that these relationships be maintained and so we will be talking to these women over the coming months throughout this Blog – those who had a large impact on the end line up and those who did so mostly unwittingly.
Due to these unexpected paths and conversations it became clear along the way that it is not just the naked flame and the fragrance but also the joy of gift giving. We love to give and receive, it comes naturally to us, therefore the more something offers us a personal connection the more we are drawn to it, fragrance does this, creates memories and attracts people to each other.
Whether it be the flame or the emotion scent evokes within us, there is no question that fire and fragrance have been drawing people together since the beginning of time. Combine the two in a sleek vessel and the final result is a natural and unobtrusive delight, fitting into any style of home or environment with ease. We believe this is where our range shifts from being a beautiful product to a carefully handcrafted gift that rekindles or ignites a connection point between others.
